About Tree Hug Campaign

The main objective of Tree Hug is to spread awareness among the individuals living in the society that trees are vital part of the nature and we could only survive by preserving them. The message we want to give is 'Protect trees rather than cutting them'. Vishav Satsang Sabha started this cause on 15 August, 2016 to yield some benefits of health while doing Tree Hug. We constantly spread this message till the time society understands and contribute towards nature preservation. Importance of Trees

Since the beginning, trees have furnished us with two of life's essentials, food and oxygen. As we evolved, they provided additional necessities such as shelter, medicine, and tools. Today, their value continues to increase and more benefits of trees are being discovered as their role expands to satisfy the needs created by our modern lifestyles. Trees one an important part of the Biosphere that exists on earth. They play an essential part in the life of man. Children play under them, and tired travelers refresh themselves in their cool shade. They give us fruit to eat and firewood to burn. We use trees to build houses and furniture's with. If the paper on which your book is printed could tell its own story, it would perhaps tell you that once. it was a tree on some hill slope in a forest. Trees thus supply us with many of the conveniences of life.

It has been recently scientifically validated that hugging trees is good for you. Research has shown that you don't even have to touch a tree to get better, you just need to be within its vicinity has a beneficial effect. In a recently published book, Blinded by Science, the author Matthew Silverstone, proves scientifically that trees do in fact improve many health issues such as concentration levels, reaction times, depression, stress and other various forms of mental illness. He even points to research indicating a tree's ability to alleviate headaches in humans seeking relief by communing with trees.

5 Benefits of Hugging a Tree

  • 1. They devour carbon dioxide

Biology 101 tells us that trees absorb carbon dioxide (CO2), removing and storing the carbon while releasing the oxygen back into the air – but the amount is remarkable. In a single year, an acre of mature trees absorbs the amount of CO2 equivalent to a car driven 26,000 miles.

  • 2. Trees are fresh air factories

Tree leaves remove the dust from the air and provide us with clean air. While hugging a tree you are standing under the “fresh air factory”. Where else would you get the freshest air if not under a tree. And fresh air has a lot of health benefits – here is a good article about the health benefits of fresh air.

  • 3. Trees fill you with positive energy

Energy exchange is another important benefit of hugging a tree. Trees take negative energy from you and replace it with a positive one. Hug a tree as long as you feel that your body is recharged with positive energy.

  • 4. Hug a tree to boost your mood

Hugging itself is a very positive thing to do (read about the health benefits of hugging). When hugging a tree you combine the positive outcome of hugging with tons of fresh air and positive energy. Only positive things can come out from that combination – better mood is certainly one of them.

  • 5. Trees keep us young and rich

They may keep us young and rich! Research found that people who live on streets with high tree density are less likely to report a number of health complaints; and specifically, trees improve health perception in ways comparable to an increase in annual personal income of $10,000 or being seven years younger. You can never be too rich or too thin, and you can never live among too many trees.
